So……the ice bucket challenge. I love the spirit and the fact that its getting people excited. But most of the country is in the middle of a devastating drought……..so please stop dumping buckets of water on your head and instead(if you havent already) think of doing what the original challenge was trying to accomplish, which was to challenge people to actually donate to the charity of their choice, because the alternative was less appealing(dumping water on ones head). I admittedly spend a fair amount of my time wallowing in snow and cold water, but I dont think pouring ice on ones head is sufficient negative reinforcement, and water is precious….as most of the rest of the world will testify. So in the spirit of the original challenge, I am donating $100 to my chosen charity(Planned Parenthood)…….and I challenge Dave Hatchett, Sarah Gotschall Harrison, and Leslie Anthony to donate $100 to the charity of their choice……..or go one full week without showering or taking a bath…..or wasting a perfectly good bucket of water.
