So, the iron drum frame is made. I hope to get the skin on this week if all goes to plan, but I have other craftwork and drum making to do for other people (who have been waiting ages) first. We had to work out how to do it, which took a lot of time, but it was made in a good way - starting with an offering of vodka to the fire. I only did some of it, Aaron the blacksmith (the other guy in the photos, and a delightful man, and such a great teacher, and very knowledabel about both blacksmithing and tribal art etc) did the hard - technical bits - that were beyond me (which to be honest was most if it), but I feel like I put my energy into it and did some of it, which is the main thing. We also started working on the iron shamans antler crown (orgay) and I am going back to be his helper while he makes them for me in a few days time. Fab day - and if anyone is interested in working with him, I could not recommend him higher - he is a true - in the blood - blacksmith, who works with the spirit of creativity and the fire absolutely impeccably
