Daniel 11: 9 Ptolemy III soon returned to Egypt after deciding it against his best interests to hold Mesopotamia and he gave it back to Seleucus Callnicus. Seleucus, however, was not satisfied with this and gathered his forces to make an invasion of Egypt itself in the early 220s BC but was killed himself in 227 BC by falling from his horse. His son Seleucus III was killed after four years on the throne and Antiochus III took the throne in 223 BC. The Seleucids were unable to take the Ptolemys down and their rule returned to the borders held before Ptolemy IIIs invasion.
