So the last two nights I performed in Bristol. To say I had a good time would be a huge understatement. What Mark Bennett has created at Smoke & Mirrors goes beyond bricks and mortar. Its a venue with a trendy comedy club type crowd where people fully observe the rules of theatre. Its just the right size for stand up or close up. He perfectly pitched his role as compere to set the night of right and supports the acts in anyway he can. (He even helped me pack the car and set me off with a panini!!) My respect for this guy is now through the roof and I urge any magicians reading to please support this place. Make sure everyone knows about it. Go buy a drink, see a show, even ask to perform there (the fee is great and youll have the best time). Long live Bristol, the new home of magic. Long live Mark Bennet, hes doing as much to promote magic now as anyone else on the planet. Thanks for this weekend pal!
