So the latest is....(ch ch ch ch changes) I quit my job. That means you cannot call me, text me, or whatsapp me at the moment because that phone and phone number is now bye bye. The strange thing is that Ive had that phone for a year and I never could memorize the number, like it was just strange to me and would not lock itself into my squishy gray matter. This week I should have a new phone and Ill paste it here for awhile and you can crank call me and crap but dont forget I stab people in the neck. Ok, so that parts done. I decided to accept an offer of new employment that is geared much closer to both my skillset. Great company, Ive worked with them in the past, and they have a much deeper foundation that I think will really pair up nicely with what Im going to be doing. So, more on that later. On this epic 3rd try of fixing the leaky toilet (leaked into the basement, ew) I think I finally pulled it off. Of course I thought the same thing two times before but 3 is a magic number. I also replaced the bathroom sink, which was no small feat given that I had to squeeze my 48 year old tubby ass under the sink and flash my butt crack and play plumber. Speaking of 48 year old tubby plumber butt crack (and its a sunday morning, even) I have found all week that I am continuing to rely on a belt to keep that butt crack covered. Thats a Hallelujah thing people, cause it means Im sticking to my new Isagenix eating plan and its working. One thing Lola and I have discovered is that shopping for food is wayyyyyy easier when were on this plan, because you dont need much. Some dark leafy and root veggies and a little bit of fruit, some brown rice or maybe some quinoa, a few yams, just a little bit of meat and booyah, you are done. While its true that were spending money on Isagenix food products, were spending next to nothing at the supermarket and its a trip when you suddenly realize how much crap you buy thats not even good for you. Lola had to break down and praise my chicken marinade recipe last night because she made it with this awesome kale and garlic thingy she did and dinner was the bomb. Ok, what else is up? Ah yes, this sunday nights church simulcast of the Dr. who is telling his story about his conversion from Islam to Christianity (seeking Allah, finding God) with some guest speakers like Less Strobel jumping in as well. It looks like Im going, probably not for the reason everyone else is going, but Ill be there. it is supposed to be a program that discusses how to build bridges between Christians and Muslims and frankly I hope that is true, we shall see. Im not big on bringing in guest speakers and simulcasts of experts and such to church and never have been because I think we have everything at our disposal at our home church and as a home church we should be discussing and solving problems AS a home church but every time I say something about how we do church somebody thinks I hate church or church leadership and I dont. I just hate many of our methods but it doesnt matter what I hate or love. Plus it bugs me that were probably paying close to a grand for the simulcast (Ive been checking it out online) and I hate the selling of the truth as product and the selling of God as product because I think if you have the truth then you should just flat out tell somebody not sell it to somebody but thats a whole other Oprah. I also think it (bringing in experts) breeds confusion in other areas suchg as our recent church leadership declaration (again) that there is absolutely zero flaw in scripture and yet Lee Strobel, one of tonights guest experts, disagrees with that idea with facts and figures in a couple of his books (The Case for The real Jesus is a good example) and yet tonight his perspective is probably going to be embraced as an expert on the subject when his other perspective is not and so on and so on and this is why I think we Christians need to do our own thinking and reading and researching and concluding because experts are not responsible for your walk with God, you are.
