So the little grass season is over.I mean warmups are over and we are now heading towards the most prestigious of the Grand Slams..#Wimbledon Lets analyze the chances of top players at The Championship: No:1 Rafa Nadal: Well Rafa has to survive first week..Grass use to be fast in first week and this is where Rafa struggled most because of the movement..If he toughs out first week, i will put him as the most favourite to win the title provided he remains fit and healthy..He just mentioned back issues after his loss to Dustin Brown at Halle No:2: Novak Djokovic: Grass is not preferred or best surface for Nole but still he has a title in 2011..For him to do it again, he has to play consistent and confident tennis throughout the tournament to make his way out.. No:3 Roger Federer: He is the darling of Wimbledon..has won 7 titles and has tied with Pete Sampras with most number of Wimbledon titles..Can he make 8? Yes he can...as Wimbledon is probably the only grand slam he can now win and this year probably his final chance to do so...He, like Djokovic, has to play consistent and focused tennis throughout..He can not afford any blip...He really has to mix up his game in which he is master..He has to play big points with sheer confidence..Grass is his best surface..He already has 14 titles on it and has highest winning percentage... No:4 Andy Murray: Will he be able to defend his crown? I think it will be too hard for him this year..and the way he was folded at Queens create more doubts..Muzz has to really really work hard this time around..If draw gives him some luck, who knows, he might complete the hatrick of finals at his home turf No:5 Stan Wawrinka: Well he is now Grand Slam Champion so he knows how to win it..He generally looks very good on grass..He pushed Murray to 5 sets in 2009..Wawrinka has to win couple of rounds first and then i definitely think that he will be playing in week 2..Can he win??..Dont know..:-) but he can make Quarters or Semis.. Other players who can do well are: Dimitrov: I really want him to do well..It is now due on him..He has heaps of talent and his game translates well on grass..I hope he plays the week 2 Gulbis: He is volatile..He can beat anybody on any surface on a given day but can he really penetrate? I think yes he can...He has a big serve and big game..He can do well..If he stays cool, he will have his chances.. Milos Raonic: The big serving canadian has an ideal game for grass..a decent mover.. he really improves his movement over the past year or so..He reminds me of Goran Ivansevic..He should serve well throughout to have his chances thats it from me..:-) Please share your thoughts...
