So the next focus point is Jack White - Jack White is another major influence on me and my music, Jack White is a prime example of someone who set out to achieve something amazing and create something from nothing and has managed just that, Ive watched many interviews with the man himself and his view on the world and music is just fascinating, if he could regress the music industry back to a time before computers took over he would and I personally believe it would improve the music scene 10 fold; in a fashion he has, with his business at 3rd Man Records in Nashville. 3rd Man records although releasing music in many formats focus on releasing vinyls trying to get the music industry to recognise that vinyl is still a massive marketing point and not just for special releases. The raw feeling you get from Jack Whites music is something to be admired, from every song with the white stripes all the way through the harshness of the dead weather and to the fine tuned control of the Buzzards and Peacocks he plays with on his solo material every song means something and to a sense you can see what he is aiming to achieve with every note and syllable. Focussing on raw feeling and emotion - a lot of songs you hear on the radio are created to be popular they have no context so heart or soul and I cant listen to them with feeling sorry for the path that the view on popular music has gone down. Some of the best song may be written by people who cant play guitar very well or people who when they sing sound like they smoke 40 a day, but even with that in mind the feeling behind the song will have a much greater influence on those who appreciate music and its roots because its something form from compassion that has compelled the songwriter to actually write.
