So, the number of available jobs is 4,670,000, of which the number of private-enterprise positions available is increasing while the number of government jobs is decreasing, because certain groups in charge of certain legislatures believe government is bad so there should be fewer government workers. Private employers appear to be baffled that their job postings are unfilled, and seem to not accept the concept that, if the employer offers a higher wage, more folks will apply for the jobs. Apparently some private employers have convinced themselves that folks take jobs so that they can spend time away from their families and personal lives in order to increase profits for the employer, rather than the formerly-held belief that people take jobs so that they can generate enough income to FEED THEIR FAMILIES and PAY THEIR MORTGAGES. This current employer philosophical position elicits the summary analysis which became popular toward the end of the past century: Duh! Offer to pay a living wage, and folks are more likely to be willing to work for you. Some commentators on the payrolls of the 1% rant that increasing wages is Inflation and therefore somehow is to be avoided. I suggest that increasing earnings is not bad when the increase in earnings permits workers to actually pay the living expenses of their families. apnews.myway//article/20140909/us--job_openings-6d95d6d6c3.html
