So the nurse who was a hero to have gone to West Africa to treat Ebola patients is now back in Maine telling us to that she is fine and to relax. She initially agreed to a 21 day voluntary quarantine but changed her mind.The Governor and health department of Maine are seeking a court order to have her stay in her home with her boyfriend. This is not to punish her but to protect others. Even the CDC says that the symptoms can take 8 to 14 days to appear and she has been back in the USA since October 24th. I am not a math wiz but she is still in the window of showing symptoms. Ebola is a deadly disease and people comparing it to the flu make me angry. I lived through the flu 3 times in the last 4 years. I stay home, drink fluids and rest. She should have just stayed in the house and done what a responsible healthcare worker should do, calm and reassure the public.
