So the opposing coach comes out with a box and one. That means two players out front, two on the box. The fifth player sticks like glue to the one player the coach feels they need to shut down. A few seconds into the game Bryce sees this and instantly calls time out. Bryce says to the ref time out, time out. Hey, thats a box and one is that legal in junior high? He sez this loud enough so the other coach hears it haha. So the girls huddle up and Bryce tells them how to beat the trick defensive scheme. He puts his two best three point shooters in the corners. His best player burns past the one defender and she has the choice to drive down the middle to the hoop or kick out to the shooters. The first time they use this approach the defense collapses and his player kicks it out. Swoosh! A threeeeee! The opposing coach continues to deploy the box and one. Chase lost to this team earlier in the season. But not tonight - Chase wins in the gym of the other team. Coaching counts. You need players but coaching counts. Congrats on a fun season Bryce!
