So the question is going to be, that confounds them; when does - TopicsExpress

So the question is going to be, that confounds them; when does this rapture happen? The answer depends on when you attended Seminary, if youre a Southern Baptist. Theyre going to give you three choices, only; the first is, before the great tribulation, these are called pre-tribs, among themselves; the middle of the great tribulation, these are mid-tribs, among themselves; and the third is at the end of the great tribulation; these are called post-tribs, among their own selves. If you attended Seminary a generation ago, 97% of you would have been post-tribs; were you to attend today, exactly (and oddly, I think) the opposite, down to the very percent, even; 97%, today, are pre-tribs. What happened? To cause such a massive, sudden shift? that caught the attention of the entire world, of Christendom? Thats a very good question, the answers is, no one knows. A study was conducted to find out why; was there some new Scripture, found, or some new understanding of present Scripture, or has God changed? The study took a couple of years, maybe more, because they couldnt find out why; they never did. The odd thing about it, are these; its exactly, to the percent, opposite of what it was; and, only in the United States did it occur. They found this odd, as I do, and I hope you do, as well. And so, the conclusion of the study; Americans think they are too good to suffer through a great tribulation. There was no new Scripture, nor any new understanding of existing Scripture, and God had not changed; and so this was their conclusion (this was a worldwide study; because it startled them, this turnaround, all of a sudden); a whole series of books and movies, Left Behind, came out of it; but the idea itself, from nowhere, absolutely nowhere, seemingly; its very startling when something does a 180 degree turn after two thousand years, all of a sudden; it sort of shocks you, and catches your attention, so naturally you ask, what happened. Nothing happened, it turns out. Ive never read one of those books or watched one of the movies, I think they have Kurt Cameron in them; but there is about to be a big budget movie, about this. For some reason, this is the soup du jour, soup of the day, a hot subject, or topic; Armageddon, the last days, or latter days, or end days, or judgement day, or whatever. Everybody and his brother are making movies about it, seems like, nowadays. Where is all of this money coming from, for Stephen Hawking, and Neil DeGrasse Tyson, the astrophysicist, to the black community, and both of their series (which all end up getting canceled, if youll notice); some of them mentioning the name of God in the first five seconds? in a science program, I mean? Would you not find it odd to attend a sermon in which a science experiment broke out, beakers and all (this is what is happening, except the opposite way; its just odd, beyond odd). These are all top notch, well produced, highly financed programs, and there are a lot of them; who is doing this, funding such as this, and why? For the life of me, I cant figure out what is the point of all of this; I dont see to what common end point it is meant, that it come to; who is trying to do what to whom, and why? So see; I am totally lost, as to what is going on; as to the who and why of it. Ill show you the top ten reasons that pre-tribs give for becoming pre-tribs, oddly, at exactly the same percentage but in the exact opposite direction; and what I would like you to notice of those reasons, is this; they are for the most part, negative reasons; by this, I mean, they are based not on what the Bible says, but things it does not say; for example, this is reason number 1; the Christian Church is not mentioned after a certain chapter in the Book of Revelation (Im not kidding); which is true; but do you see how this is a negative reason, and not a positive one? in other words, based on something the Bible does not say, instead of what it does say? There could be a lot of reasons the Christian Church is not mentioned after a certain chapter in Revelation; one of them could be this; the Christian Church is simply not mentioned after a certain chapter of the Book of Revelation. Were I to guess (which is exactly what they are doing); this is what I would guess; just reading that particular Book, I mean. The Book does not say as to why; if it doesnt say as to why; you dont therefore know, as to why; because it simply does not say. As Christ said to Nicodemus; if you do not understand when I speak to you of earthly things; how, then, would you understand, were I to speak to you, of Heavenly things? Those sorts of things are left out, because our minds are not designed to comprehend them. Were you to resolve to explain yourself to a cockroach, say; exactly how would you then accomplish this? I suppose, by frustrating yourself, and irritating the cockroach. This is what Christ is trying to convey to Nicodemus (that is to say; to you); notice; Nicodemus, as he approached Christ, at night; had asked Christ no question at all. Nothing. Nicodemus asked no question at all, rather made a statement, to Christ. Christ answers a question; that Nicodemus never asks; notice this. He does such as this for a reason.
