So the top 85 people have as much wealth as the bottom 3.5 billion. The Rich often object that taking away their wealth wouldnt help anything because its just a drop in the bucket once you spread it out. This would seem to put the lie to that talking point. Even if you didnt take away *all* their wealth and reduce them to abject poverty, as one might be tempted to do; even if they just gave up *half* their wealth, remaining no doubt multi-billionaires in most cases: even then, youd be adding 50% to the wealth of those 3.5 billion. Would that make some difference in their lives? Yes, I think it would. (Would it make their lives better? Much more complex question...) But why speculate on such matters, the Market says theres no problem here.
