So there I am in the supermarket with my niece and this woman (who I know but have not seen in years) walks up to me and say hey how are you? I have not seen you in a long time looks like you put on some weight (as she taps my hips). I look around for my niece and I realise that she is looking up at me for my response so I look at the woman and say well you dont expect me to stay small....I am filling out proportionately for my height and I LOVE the way I look. WELL needless to say the woman is trying to eat her words as she complements me. So I smiled and I wished the woman ALL the BEST and walked away. TWO THINGS ABOUT THIS ENCOUNTER: 1. Why do we as women feel the need to try to put down each other? You dont see men doing it. 2. We as women have to be VERY careful how we portray ourselves around VERY impressionable young girls. UPLIFT SOMEONE TODAY
