So, there I was--in a Big Box Store. I very seldom step into big box stores, but when I do, I always stop by the paint department to look for discounted, mistinted paints. I found a quart can of a cool color for future projects, but it didnt have the discounted price on it. I tracked down an employee, who happened to be one of the managers. She shook her head and said that there should be a new price on it. She then disappeared with the can and came back a moment later. She said the original price was $10.97 and it would be 50% off of that price. She said to let the cashier know and she would let the front end manger know about the discounted price. Cool stuff, I figured I was good to go. When I went up to the cashier, I informed her that the manger said to ring it up at 50% the original price. The cashier scanned it and it rang up as $10.97. Then she looked at me with a puzzled look and asked me how much 50% off would be. I smiled and said Sweetie, I dont get paid to do that kind of math. She then called the manager over and her response was charge him $5.50. I looked at her and said is that 50%?. She got flustered and said Ring it up at $4.48. I just LOVE going into these no thinking zones called Big Box Stores.
