So, theres a new little pot belly coming home to the farm on Saturday. She is 10 months old, and is being given away because even though she lives outside of the house (looks like a garage, with straw for her bed, comfortable-looking), the family is complaining that her smell is getting into the house and they want her gone. The message that was sent to the Farm Animal Network was infuriating. There was a reference that she would be bacon if no one took her. I offered to foster her, initially, until another sanctuary was ready to take animals. Then I thought, who am I kidding? Shes going to be in my heart as soon as I lay eyes on her. Forget that. Ill make a home for her here, and she can settle into her new life. She has been on a diet of cracked corn, like Sunny. Shes unwanted, like Sunny. Shes had no vet care, like Sunny. And she looks EXACTLY like Sunny. I couldnt say no. Her name is Kiwi, and I cant wait to bring her home.
