So this as always my concern with the Cascadian movement especially when it comes to people talking about a political party or some other organization that may depend on money. Corporation and their NGO (non governmental organizations) as well as nonprofits could easily buy off politicians or support a cause so as to divert it or hijack it for some other gain. This Sunday (September 21st 2014) we saw the rally about climate crises hijacked by a gubernatorial candidate (Kitzhaber) to give an illusion that he is a pro environmental governor while ignoring the fact he is heavily funded and backed by the extraction corporations of timber, petroleum, water privation and mining. Kitzhaber used genuine concern by Cascadians and others at the rally in Portland to greenwash is campaign for reelection. Cascadians need to be very conscious of these potential pitfalls and traps. We must always remember politicians can be bought or bribed or threatened by hidden forces that have deeper insidious plans for stealing the commons. counterpunch.org/2014/09/22/ngos-are-cages/
