So this beautiful Blue Tongue lizard just found his way to the right front door! He is ok, just trying to find somewhere safe to hide out of the heat. We will hold onto him until this afternoon when the heat dies down and then we will release him down at the river where his other friends will be waiting for him. In the meantime he is enjoying some fresh fruit, vegies and water. Please make sure to leave a few shallow bowls of fresh water out for out native wildlife on days like today. If you find a native animal that is affected by the heat make sure to leave out some water, give it shade and if needed (and safe to do so) bring it to your local vet clinic for assessment.
