So this evening style Icon Alexa Chung is giving a talk at the Victoria and Albert museum in partnership with Vogue. I cant begin to tell you how deeply this upsets me. But I will try..... For me the Museum has been adorned by such fashion greats as Westood, Versace, and Soon Alexander Mcqueen. Now I dont begrudge here walking around in here highly contrived im trying to not look contrived look but she has no place there talking to prople about personal style (to which she has none). It leaves a bitter taste in my mouth that we have gone from Blow, Mcqueen, Galliano and Guinness to Chung and her other driods of clones which lets face it is Kate Moss on a budget and lacks any of her charisma. We I first went to the Museum as a young boy it fundamentaly influenced me to be where I am now and am indebted to the educational experience it bestowed upon me. What will be the influence from this. Distilled grunge, boyfriend in a band, drinking from a can at festivals and having a Mulberry bag named after me. ? I think I will pass and carrying on looking at the Historic pieces in the Museums permanent fashion display.
