So, this is a good news/bad news post. The good news is, we made it to TN and were both alive! The bad news is, less than an hour from my moms (and almost a thousand miles into our trip), we were in an accident. Some jerk in a white pickup towing a trailer with a ladder on it (not my first choice of words but decided to keep it clean) cut me off while I was traveling in the left lane of a 4 lane road. I went into the grassy median to avoid him and kept the bike up as long as I could without going into oncoming traffic or back into our lane to be run over by someone. I also saw the end of the median approaching fast, which, had I hit it, would have launched us so as the bike was fish tailing under us, I dumped it and we went down. Lisa Mangravito was thrown about ten feet and landed on her left shoulder, breaking her clavicle (collar bone). I was VERY lucky not to have broken anything though I feel like that side of beef from Rocky right now. X-rays of my ribs showed no fractures though those of you who have ever bruised your ribs know its pretty painful regardless. I also did a face plant in the grass and scraped my nose and cheek so I guess my modeling career is on hold for now. Those of you who know me well, know I am not religious, but in this case, I will say, THANK GOD, it turned out the way it did. We both could have been hurt way worse, obviously. I am very thankful to be alive and posting this. And before you ask, YES, we will be riding again after the bike is fixed. Obviously itll be a while for Lisa while her broken bone heals. I think well stick close to home for a while though. So, thank you to everyone for your thoughts while we were on our way. I suppose we could use some more of those thoughts while we both recover. Again, the good news is, were both alive TO recover. And we will, together...
