So this is a short video demo of a Raspberry Pi / Gertduino rover - TopicsExpress

So this is a short video demo of a Raspberry Pi / Gertduino rover controlled over wifi. It accepts commands via built-in web page or telnet connection; in some of the video you can hear me typing away on the keyboard to control via telnet, and I try to get a good demonstration of the webpage for use on a tablet. I havent gotten a good meter on the frame rate yet, but the latency is quite minimal and the frame rates gotta be in the ballpark of 30 to 35 frames per second. I utilize a wifi router hard lined into the Raspberry Pi rather than a wifi dongle to increase wifi range as well as an unexpected but well noticed decrease in video latency. The rover utilizes two 12 volt power supplies: 1 for the Raspberry Pi, Gertduino & motor control board while the other drives the motors. The wifi router is powered by a 6xAA battery pack. Next goal in line is to integrate some sort of sensor array so as to be able to perceive its exterior environment... anybody have any good ideas on that? I figured starting off with Sonic range detectors, but Im curious as to what else might be available, or other I ideas worth pursuing.
