So this is an unrealistic thought, but here goes anyway. If global warming can be slowed by changing fuels in cars and the output of factories, etc, what would be the effect if the world could be convinced to shut down for 24 hours? No power plants, no vehicles, trains, or boats, nothing but emergency services? Our ancestors had none of these things. I for one could go without for 1 day. Just a thought.
