So this is heartbreaking, makes me so deeply sad how many lives will be loose soon in Galveston Aco, all our shelters are over full, people please SPAY/NEUTER!!! this is unfair for our pets!!!..I got this by email right now, please spread!! MASS EUTHANASIA PLANNED AT GALVESTON COUNTY ANIMAL RESOURCE CENTER!! From a volunteer: Galveston County Animal Resource Center’s (petfinder/shelters/TX672.html) Manager obtained permission from the Animal Services Advisory Committee (arcpets.org/animal-advisory-Committee.html) yesterday to euthanize all animals over capacity of 300. Because she reports there are over 625 animals, she will be euthanizing over 325 animals! Please go to GCARC’s website and determine if there are any animals there that you can take into your rescue. If you are close enough, please walk through this shelter and pull every animal you can. All 501(c)3 Rescue Organizations that have proof of such are eligible to pull from this shelter. All dogs should come with DHPP, Bordatella, first flea treatment and first de-worming at no charge. However, if you prefer to have an animal from this facility completely vetted, Animal Alliance of Galveston County (animalalliancetx.org/) has offered ½ off all services they provide to rescue groups as an incentive to move these animals out." Feel free to get this information out to every rescue group that isn’t listed; the more information we share, the more animals we can save!"
