So this is how court works when it deals with restraining orders - TopicsExpress

So this is how court works when it deals with restraining orders and such: You get a letter saying that you do not have to come to the hearing but to write victim impact statement. Which I have done about 6 times. I have sent them to the court and in the two times that I didnt need to show up I have been called in because the court ordered lawyer, working for the soon to be ex is asking for a joke of parole with no findings for 18 mths. Today I got woken by the DA from Attleboro asking me to come to court for the two violations that my ex has in THAT city , never mind the other 5 that he has in Taunton. I was asked to speak to the judge in front of the ex. Very scary but I did it. And then the verdict: My ex got 18 mths probation with no findings and he will be a free man. The DA quickly stood up and asked if the judge would put a GPS on his ankle to insure my safety. The judge did allow that. Now I have court on Friday where the charges are more violent in nature, but there is still a chance that he could walk tomorrow. And I will be there to make sure we get something more then probation. The only reason why was not let go today is because some one thought that releasing him on New Years Eve MIGHT not be a good idea. Next is my court date in Taunton , Friday , January 2, 2015. He may be released that day.... Or the court might work and might do some additional jail time. What a way to welcome 2015.
