So this is just me talking for a moment... so please indulge me for a moment. Many days we face challenges with Zane lately and his new school. We get calls almost everyday regarding his behavior. Most of the time we are happy to know so we can address it at home. But, for a school that is designed for children on the spectrum I find that some of these calls are overkill. We were not called this often at his other school. Granted, this environment is a lot more academically driven, but the balance of helping to redirect his behavior is not being handled in the best way (my opinion). Last night I found out he was not going on a field trip because hes to active 😳. Isnt this what you do ? Why should he be the only one left back? I accept that my son has a far ways to go and believe me we work with him constantly, but as parents we have to stop and re evaluate when sometimes the fit may not be correct and advocating for change becomes necessary. I chose to talk about this situation today because I know other parents out there also have their own struggles ( we all do), but we must be balanced in our approach where our responsibilities come into play and then when we have to tweak and fight for the best for our children. Oh yes, and also listen to that inner voice that guides you... in my case that is my Lords. Thank you for your indulgence ... Bless up .💕🙏
