So this is my first year ever not being around some family for Christmas. Im more nostalgic than sad because I remember times I had when I was young with my parents, brothers, and grandparents. Even tho Im going to my neighbors for dinner this evening, there are a few family traditional foods that I just dont want to be without - so I made a small amount for just me. In my family we always had rice with giblet gravy - not potatoes. Im not opposed to potatoes by any means, but we were a rice family. So I made giblet gravy, and a small batch of dressing, opened some cranberry sauce for that extra little flavor I love - and will have MY favorites tomorrow. And of course, I cant forget the BIGGY - homemade eggnog that you EAT, not drink! Oh Yeah! If my brothers were to read this, they would agree! ;-) What are some of YOUR favorite traditional foods of Christmas? What are you going to have somewhere, somehow, or its just not Christmas without it?
