So this is my ta22, in the finishing stages of getting it on the road. Me and my father tried to tune the car so I can drive it to the exhaust shop but we couldnt get it 100% so I thought Id post here to maybe get some freash ideas. It has a 2t with a weber side draft on it but only 2 adjustment screws for air/fuel mixture. I didnt build the motor and the owner I bought it off didnt know too much about it even though he got it built. He said it had a cam but unsure of stage, sounds like a pretty mild one. It also has apparent head work but Ive yet to compression test. We can get it to rev well at around 40deg advance but pops and farts at idle, idles well at around 20deg advanced but pops when you give it a quick rev. We have it sitting at around 25deg now but shes still not happy. Ive installed and electronic dizzy to go 12v ignition but Im still running standard plugs where as I took out hotter burning plugs (std are 5 pulled out 6s I think) So my questions are Do you think its getting too much fuel? Would a higher spec plug pos. iridium help with the issue? And does anyone know the wireing for the standard AM radio because I cant see how the speakers would hook up! Thanks in advance!
