So this is what happened this morning. No alarm at 3:30am therefore I woke up at 5:21am. My run was scheduled for 5:30 and had to drive 37 miles to get there. I literally cried the entire drive! I was so upset disappointed, just thinking I wouldnt be able to run the entire loop. I text Kirsty Jennifer & Tim to let them know I was late n will be out there regardless..Tim said no worries he would crew me n not leave me.. I arrived to Ormond an hour after everyone had left.. the thought of running 22.5 miles on my own or possibly not doing entire loop weighed very heavy on me. But I got going. Close to 4 miles a car pulls up and I hear Hey how are you?? It was Jennifer Florida her huge smile was motivation enough to tell myself it didnt matter how far I got I would truck along until someone picked me up. Mile 9 I saw the first two volunteers and I was in shock they were still there..even more shocking when they said Oh you are only 10 min behind the last two or three runners holy cow!! Tim was at mile 12 again I got more encouragement..Mile 15 Jennifer says Im doing great..Mile 18 my IT & knee started to hurt a bit.. Mile 20 I was like this is it..Im close to the end n hear comes Jennifer again! She ran the last 2 1/2 miles with me..got me up the Grenada Bridge ouch Lol Thank you so much for that!! You are so amazing!! When we got back and there was still a handful of runners & volunteers cheering me!! Im so extremely blessed to be part of such a wonderful team of runners!! This was my last long run! Three weeks from today I will be running the race of a lifetime!! Cant wait to cross the finishline!!
