So this just happened...I was considering indulging in some sacred herb for sunset, but for whatever reason & the sun setting fast, we just decided to rush to the beach & get our solar gaze on weedless...sure enough God had bigger plans for me ;) For anyone uniformed & not in San Diego right now, the ocean is thumping & pumping! A few minutes after carefully swimming around myself, I notice a semi-panicky mother waving to what appears to be her child stuck in the waves...sure enough her son had lost his boogie board, caught in a current, & was panicking as well. At this point she stumbles into the ocean with her clothes on & looks as helpless as they come. With no lifeguard in sight, it was quite obvious it was time for my good deed of the day LOL I tell her to stay where shes at (just so yall know, I think more people drown attempting to save someone else caught in a current than the original person caught in the current...especially when inexperienced & panicking); run to go get his boogie board; race out to the ocean stepping on all kinda rocks that thankfully to adrenaline actually felt kinda good; and got to him quite quickly. Sure enough, his mothers instinct was right on as he was huffing & puffing and talking about not being able to breathe. I gave him the boogie board to tie to his wrist, held onto him, & helped get him back to shore in what seemed to be about a minute. To see the relief in his & her eyes felt very fulfilling & was yet another great reminder to all of us how lucky we are to be alive & healthy! I truly believe the moment when we lose respect for mother nature & especially the Ocean is the moment you will get humbled. I am so grateful God put me in the right place at the right time as Im sure they were as well ;) Keep the attitude of gratitude & watch your appreciation exponentially flourish!!
