So this may sound like complete foolery to some of you, I need advice regarding how to use our medical system. I have been out of the loop for a VERY long time and desire now to get my hormones tested, thyroid, overall physical and anything else I need at 42. I have already been prescribed a boat load of blood tests by a rheumatologist but hes not on my plan now. I also have a PPO and therefore can bypass a regular MD and go to a specialist. But my question is WHO do I begin with? Is it a family doc, and then from there specialists? Who does that majority of bloodwork? Will my new rheumatologist accept a script that was already written by the previous one? I know this is a lot of questions but I am completely clueless in this arena.
