So this month Im taking part in NaNoWriMo - also known as National Novel Writing Month! The idea is that you pick a month and then you have 30 (or 31) days to complete a 50,000 word novel. Its meant to be a kickstart for people who want to write but - just like me - have procrastinated for a long time. Or edit themselves too much. Or need a deadline. Its now day 6 and Im currently just over 7,500 words into my novel.... so Im a little behind but doing fairly well My novel is of course pretty dreadful in places - as first drafts always are - but the idea is that after the month is over you can then go back and edit (and expand). You just have to get those first 50,000 words on paper. Its about getting into the daily habit and writing without censoring yourself. Watch out for some more update over the next few days and weeks :)
