So this newbie must share a story and why this weekend was soooo dear to my heart! (Sorry for the long post but Mahalo if you read to the end) Just a week prior on August 6th was the 4 year passing of my amazing mother, she brought me into the aloha, Ohana way when she moved to Hawaii as a traveling nurse after I graduated HS over 20 years ago, and I joined the military. I visited her first on Oahu and had a lot of time by myself to explore, then I married and introduced my husband to this beautiful life as we surprised my grandparents for their 40th anniversary at my moms house on Ewa Beach. Magical doesnt even come close and explains the neighbors that came with food and covered my amazing grandparents literally up to their ears with fresh leis. My Mom brought in a local hula group of amazing little girls to perform for them and it was the most amazing experience of OHANA Ive ever had, until this weekend. The love was just so evident from people that hadnt even met my amazing grandparents or myself for that matter before from my moms sweet lil neighborhood! A couple years later she moved to the big island and I spent 2 weeks with her over Christmas and new year holiday. For Xmas & NYE I had her make me and Alex turkey so I could pack a sandwich and some vodka cranberries and we were on our way to whatever the day brought us, with boogie boards, fins and goggles and of course sunscreen in tow for the day, then every night we spent with her. Ive been to the islands quite a bit l, the last being Christmas & NYE 2012 where I finally brought my Moms ashes to where her heart home was in Ewa Beach in front of her former home there to finally bring her home. I still didnt feel complete closure and I know there never will be, because its the hardest thing to go though. BUT THIS WEEKEND HER AND I WERE THERE TOGETHER!!! She comes to me as a hummingbird and a whole week before and this week also and until now shes been sooooo loud and just THERE!! Thanks a million snaps, shakas, hugs, kisses and rum to everyone and my mom for making this such an amazing spiritual, fun and extremely loving place!!! She was there with us all in such an amazing spirit! And seeing the adorable couples outfits that the couples were wearing like my grandparents wore in the early 70s when they went to Hawaii, was another sign I was where I belonged as I has lost my grandpa 6 months almost to the day as my mom. A million thanks to everyone for such a great time!!! I cant wait till next year!!! Oh and to get to be a vagabond vendor and the social butterfly I am was the most prefect thing for me!!! Still can not believe this is the first Ive heard of this bit I WILL be back from here out!!! Much love and thanks to all!!! The top picture is of my and my mom on the big island, bottom where we surprised my grandparents for their anniversary, leis NOT EVEN close to what they got after this pic. Next my tribute to my mom, still a work in progress as Ill be getting two more Honus on each side for my brother and I with her actual ashes in the tattoos. Thank you soooo very much Otto and Baby Doe for having me!!! Again cant wait for next year!!! Much much aloha to all!!!!!
