So this past weekend I was in Virginia. Arrived Thursday evening at Hank Loughridge and Millie Loughridge(s) home. Hung out with the two guitar players from the English Channel (did I mention that they are my favorite band in the world?) Also with us were Channel wives Jeanne and Carolyn and Hanks sister Cindy and brother in law Rusty. Did some guitar playing and singing with Buzzy Lawlor and Marion Hodges (or at least tried to keep up with them but these guys are pros and I am just a living room rock star wanna be). Friday began by having breakfast with Millie and the lovely Julie Quarles. Afterwards I met up with Hank and then Randy J Davis and Jill Finan who had come in from Texas and New Yorkto surprise the Channel folks. That night found us all at Club Midway in Mechanicsville for dinner a four hour English Channel show. Saturday started with a tour of Richmond then a 3 hour ride up to Leesburg VA for Let It Be DC featuring performances by The Goodfellas, Apple Core, and of course The English Channel. It was a rocking time with friends like Neal Greene, Vaile Walders, Steve Keating, Diane Garrett Keating, Jeanne Hodges, Ron Perry, Carrie Zaretski, Sherri Goodson Brown, Becky Abramson, Marylee Traver, Charles Huxter, and a surprise visit from John McFadden and his son Taylor. John is a buddy from high school who saw on FB that I was in the area and made the drive from Maryland to catch up and listen to some of the best music of all time (did anyone say Beatles?). Sunday started with a little get together at Neals house with some of the above names then back to Richmond for a late flight to Detroit. It was a weekend full of good times, great friends, AWESOME music and not a whole lot of sleep. Wish I could do it again this weekend but alas it is back to the usual life of hanging with the dog and watching NCIS reruns.
