So this upcoming January is my 24th birthday on the 24th. Every year I try to put on a bigger and bigger show. That being said, I end up spending more money on it every year (without making any back since I try to make the show free). Therefore, this year, Im looking for sponsors. If you or your business chooses to help sponsor the show, your name/business name will be present on this years banners, flyers, shirts, radio spots, internet adverts, etc. Why Im searching for sponsors: 1) To pay the bands, who often volunteer to play even though most of them travel 3+ hours. That being said, I also try to get bigger bands every year, so your sponsorship would help bring in more well known bands, if you will. 2) Sound guy/PA, stage hands, etc. PAs are often an additional fee when booking a special event. 3) Room fee. The past three years Ive been paying roughly $300-$500 out of pocket for the room. 4) Security. Bouncers arent free, but are required by law. 5) Catering. Last year was the first time I had catering and it went over great, so I would like to offer more this year. 6) Venue staff. The venue has to have employees scheduled to serve food/drinks, clean the bathrooms, and clean the venue before and after. 7) Memorabilia. Every year I am told to have shirts and other novelty items available, so this year Id like to offer that, especially without charging attendees. 8) The artist. Every year I have an artist design the poster and HAND PAINT it. I like to support said artist and nor with just a few bucks. 9) Advertisements. Radio, tv, billboards, banners, newspapers, etc. All cost insane amounts of money, but are EXTREMELY effective. 10) Many other fees and such that pop up along the way. As of right now, I plan to hold the show in Northampton, MA on January 24th 2015. Venue/bands/everything else TBA. I do this show for all of us to get together and support each other.
