Stewie Yandle and Sammy Thorn turned back the clock to their premiership years with a strong in and under effort through the middle of the ground. With Mike Mori controlling things across half back the forward line of L.Butler, D.Davis, W.Hooper and J.Fidge was serviced well and made th emost of what they were given. Across half back Trsytan Caley played his best game of the year with an attacking and committed display. What hurt was an inability to put the game away. Nine points in succession in the second quarter meant the Hawks went in 20 points down at half time insetad of in front. To their credit they never went away and did actually get infront at one stage. Then an inability to stop the Cross in the first five minutes of the last quarter saw the Hawks go down by ten points.
