So today I learned something interesting about my family history. - TopicsExpress

So today I learned something interesting about my family history. I had my DNA tested and knew there was 2% African American in my line. I just ASSUMED it was on my Moore side because of being in the south and plantation owners. Imagine my surprise today to learn that my cousin who shares the same Great Grandparents with me has no African American in her!! Makes you go Hmmmmm.....that only tells me that it must be from my Moms side of the family. I found this quite humorous....since the more I learn about my Moms side the more I learn about my Mom and Grandma. For example as much as my Mom hated the Osmond Family for no reason our Thennes lines came from the same area in Germany. Related? 99.9% sure they are, just have not found the common ancestor. But now I need to uncover where this African American line comes in since I no longer believe it is on my Dads side. So my question to all my family history friends and genealogy experts, am I barking down the right tree with my DNA thinking? Since my cousin and I are second cousins and we do not share that common ethnicity does it only make sense it would be on my Moms line? Thanks for the help!
