So, today Im 40. Since I was a kid, Ive never celebrated or done anything more than just enjoying being with close family and friends. For some reason, when my husband asked me if I wanted to have a party this year, I said yes. Really, the troubles of this world are more obvious by the month and it just seemed like celebrating being alive and being with friends and family was the best antidote to all the tough stuff. Its awesome to feel appreciated and loved by those near and far. And, yes, it still feels amazing to see your name on a cake even if youre older than seven. So happy we celebrated. Best part: the TJs dancers came out of retirement for a surprise performance! Im still laughing. Heres an excerpt.
