So today as I was OCin in my daughters pre-school, while dropping her off, I was approached by what I can only assume was the principal & 3 teachers/maintenance man. They walked up politely, however unsure, & asked is that a gun? My response was, sure is. The principal asked if I was carrying for the police or some other agency. My response was, no why? She asked if I was allowed to carry that in there because they didnt think it was. My response was the usual, It is my right & as a CPL holder I MUST OC, I cannot conceal it. They said they werent bothered but parents were concerned & frightened. I told them, its my right & that they should be educated. Im not the one you should worry about walking in here legally. Its those you dont see that you should worry about. I feel as teachers watching my children you should also have a firearm! After a few friendly back & forths & me showing them MI Legal update 86, I was thanked & they said theyd ask their police liaison about the law, nothing more than to quell the parents who gathered. As I was leaving two of the four said, I support you 100% keep fighting & dont give up your rights! Overall good experience & glad a few teachers feel the same. Will find out tomorrow if they double checked Im sure!
