So today in the shower I lost several handfuls of hair. After driving to grand rapids to get my shot I made the decision to chop off all my hair. I stopped at great clips in Rockford so I wouldnt change my mind. 9:30 this morning I was introduces to Gabrielle. Losing my hair has been the most difficult thing in this horrific journey. Breaks my heart. Silly to some but it really is so personal and a huge part of who I am. Very scary to lose my identity. Well, Gabrielle saw I was having a hard time. I asked to sit in the very back so no one would see my tears. We moved to the back and she cut all my hair off. She was so compassionate and gentle. When it was over I looked in the mirror and cried. She gave Grant and I a few minutes alone to let us process what just happened. We walked up front to pay and she said it was free of charge. What are the odds I would walk in there today and find someone like Gabrielle. Someone I really needed today? If you go to great clips in Rockford let Gabrielle know what an angel she is. There are good people out there.
