So today marks a huge day in my life , I have resigned from the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority (CERA) to take up a new and very different job in the Wairarapa. I cant reveal all the details yet as things have to be formalised but its fair to say the new job draws on a combination of the skills and experiences I have honed over 3 decades. It has been a huge priviledge to have worked for CERA and with arguably the best comms team I have ever had the good fortune to work with. I will leave Chch with some sadness but I will still retain my house down there in the meantime so the link is not completely severed. But after three years and thousands of air miles and Im feeling very lucky to have scored a really interesting job a quick 10 minute drive from my Wairarapa home. And yes there will be some celebratory drinks in Wellington and Chch .
