So, today my beautiful daughter, Tina, found the perfect wedding dress. She wont let me post a picture because Chase isnt allowed to see it, but she was... omigosh! Gorgeous... Perfect. I couldnt help but recall her first formal, a military ball, and she wore a beautiful spring-green dress we found in a thrift shop, because we had so little. We couldnt afford the pictures at the Ball, so we bought some long stemmed roses and took pictures outside in front of the apple tree in the yard. And then I thought about all these years, and all the growing pains, and all the growth, and her startlingly stunning soul which shone through it all... I am so lucky we found one another... I am so lucky to have had a hand in her life, and that I am standing with her today. I wish I had understood how the world had shifted that day when, against all plans and bending ethics (but not QUITE breaking them!), I brought her home with me for a weekend and, inside two days, realized SHE was home. At last. I am so lucky she chose me... I am so blessed and so very grateful. I love you, Tina! *** I know how lucky Chase is that my baby chooses him to fill her heart, her life and her love.
