So today our hike has come full circle and we returned to the beauty of Chamonix, France. 100+ miles later, we are in awe of all that we have seen and done. To make the last full day of hiking special, our guides planned a Hawaiian day and brought festive costumes for us to wear while hiking. We got some odd stares, but lots of smiles were shared. Our lunch was spent basking in the sun around a high mountain lake, where several people swam in the frigid glacial pool. We returned to Chamonix by cable car, completing the circuit we started nearly two weeks ago. Tomorrow we will ride a cog rail train to access one final bonus hike catching more views of Mont Blanc. Later, we will ride the famous Aiguille du Midi cable car, ascending nearly straight up. I rode this car 22 years ago, so I am excited to return to the snowcapped mountain. One more day before heading to Geneva and beyond. It is bittersweet.
