So, today was rather anti-climatic, as expected. I just dont have the energy to plan any activities for myself...parties, or whatnot. So, whatever. I was trying to ignore the day, but was greeted by my teacher and a lovely 6-pack of Pepsi waiting for me (and a card! omg, I almost forgot!). I hid the Pepsi right away, because kids were coming into the classroom...so ended up forgetting about the card! Oh noes! Today was randomly, also the 42nd day of school. My teacher allowed me a couple minutes of time at the end of the day to explain in a very truncated fashion the fact the 42 is the Answer to Life, the Universe and Everything. I mean, were talking 1st graders, here, but I did my best. In the end, I asked a friend to drop me off at the Hallmark store, where I was able to buy 3 of the 4 ornaments that I *really* have to have this year. Im hoping to find the fourth on eBay for a reasonable price. Then, I thought Id hit the grocery store next door, and try and get some things that I dont always have access to, having such a difficult time getting to grocery stores these days. I found some TV dinners, ordered Panda Express from their inside PE counter, and found some Salted Caramel Core ice cream. Now, this store is far and above the farthest store from my home - it would be almost an hour ride on the bus home, and that doesnt count check-out time. But, I thought, Id take my chances (also, I grabbed a couple more random delicious-looking desserts.) I finally got myself out to the bus stop, and the bus drove right by me - I wasnt at the stop yet, I was still approaching. Sigh. That will add another 15 minutes to my already melting ice cream. Now, to find a spot to wait for the next bus...in the shade? Nope. No shade to be had. Finally, when I was giving up and just sat down on my walker, a coworker drove by. Hey, Suzanne! Want a ride? Oh, no. I live quite a ways a way. Thanks though. About where? I described it, and she said, Hop in! Best. Ride. Ever. Most importantly - we SAVED THE ICE CREAM!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! #happybirthdaytome Now, to sit down with Barry and watch some Stargate. :-D
