So today we will see the House of Representatives pass a bill that defunds the ACA. You will hear much this weekend about how this move falls somewhere between extremist and downright silly. To those who deride this act, perhaps it would be helpful to first consider just exactly what constitutes a “principled stand” Three years ago, a unified cadre of Democrat legislators stood firm against the will of bi-partisan legislative opposition, and voting against the majority of the American people, they passed a law, using lies, threats, bribes, and extortion of their fellow legislators in the dark of night, passing it by one vote. It was (and remains) the first step towards their ultimate goal of socialized medicine in our nation, and it was (and still is) what they believed in. Today, a unified cadre of Republican legislators who have been elected, and sent to Washington for this precise purpose, will vote, in the light of day, to uphold the will of the American people. To try to thwart what a great number of sensible people consider to be, the very worst law ever passed in the history of our nation. This act will probably not work. It will probably accomplish very little. But it is the first step in their goal of returning liberty and freedom to the American people, and it is what they believe in.
