So, tonight I with a Pedigree Chum went to see the Abbey Theatres - TopicsExpress

So, tonight I with a Pedigree Chum went to see the Abbey Theatres production of SIVE by John B. Keane in the Millennium Forum Theatre & Conference Centre, Derry. Totally blown away. One of the most enthrallingly brilliant pieces of live theatre Ive (ever) witnessed (and that not really since Hofesh Shechter Companys Political Mother in Derry 2013). Quietly hard yet poignantly silent; tragically beautiful, poetically musical wit & whisper with keen ear of Keane - a rural proud grey cruel real Ireland - it caught me hard. Soundless but for the heart tug & gasp. Exceptional performances by all. Never have I seen such command of posture & presence. Set design gave essence of us eavesdropping onlookers (the mountain curving kitchen especially drew mirage of clever crucifix & religious undertones with such eagle-eyed precision. The acting, lighting, sound, direction - wow! Want to go go see see this again & again. Urge all to catch while in Derry (until Sat 11 Oct) & An Grianan Theatre (21 - 25 Oct) & nationwide. Best was though was me & my old pal out in celebration of being dog lovers & in their memory. Meeting the Lighting King John (a music & book lover) & hugging (me) the one-and-only Derry Power (for real) aka Sean Dota. And, dontcha just wanna pray for all ... that the wind will blow me in your direction and I’ll have the satisfaction of taking you with me... if the sun, moon and stars rained down out of the heavens and split the ground under my feet..., This took me with a storm of something special. Ahh, look up & smile at thon Shorty stars :)) x
