So tragically a student at Westside took his own life this morning. My daughter knew him. Nice, happy kid she told me. Another parent I talked to said her daughter said the exact same thing. In typical Westside fashion an announcement was made over the loudspeaker. A person working in the cafeteria burst into tears because that was her God Son. Oh but grief Counselors are on hand. This happened two years ago and it was the same scenario. I DID NOT get even an automated phone call from the school. Dont WE as parents need to know these things?
