So true, Becky Boyd Culpepper, aka Cuz. (We share the same maiden name, though no documented evidence of direct blood relationship. But our status as sisters in Christ, is even more solid blood relationship!) Peacemaking sometimes demands enduring or even confronting trouble, in order to get to the root of issues of conflict. That is always best accomplished with Christ closely involved. Some are so conflict averse they will allow passive-aggressive conflict or out-and-out hostility to continue unaddressed because of lack of confidence in being able to address it appropriately or from fear of being run over. When one trusts entirely in Christ, no circumstance is so scary as to cause one to run and hide. As Romans 8:28 reminds us, For we know that ALL things work together for good to those who love the Lord and are called according to his purpose. That is a very empowering realization! As one popular prayer platitude goes, Lord, help me remember that there is nothing that can happen to me today that you and I cant handle! One of the Holy Spirits equipping attributes is RESOURCEFULNESS! God owns all things, knows all things, and is sovereign over all things. When he is invited to be a part of the circumstances, he can work in ways that seem mysterious to some, but actually are just wonderfully consistent with his omniscience and omnipotence! I am so grateful to be one of his beloved daughters who delights in him and in whom he delights!
