So two of my girls asked me yesterday what I want for my birthday - TopicsExpress

So two of my girls asked me yesterday what I want for my birthday on Friday. They said I am super picky and hard to shop for...can you imagine :) . No seriously, I am like so easy to buy for but no one ever seems to get me what I want.. I usually end up with things like jewelry...um, I make jewelry for a living and have about 600 different pieces of jewelry in my shop right now so why would I want more, plus Im not a big jewelry person and admittedly I am very picky about the jewelry I wear myself....but I do have some beautiful pieces in my jewelry box that I enjoy just looking at from time to time. I also end up with clothes...another area where I am uberly picky...although my hubby has since learned to buy me a gift card for clothes rather than pick them himself because it saves me a trip to the exchange line, lol. I would probably have to say the funkiest gift Ive ever been given was a cat shaped toilet scrubber. Sorry, Lillie. I loved the thought but if it werent for the fact that you were like 9 when you picked that out, I would have to say you were the worlds worst gifter...tee, hee. So I told the girls to think for two minutes about what I enjoy and what makes me happy.....ding, ding, ding. Lillie yelled Hobby Lobby gift card in 30 seconds, and Katey said Michaels. I love crafting and creating and those are the two stores I shop most often when I have fun money. I guess I do have to admit that I am extremely picky about what I like and about spending money on frivolous girly stuff that I consider a misuse of funds, since I would prefer to spend that same money on art supplies (Jim bought me a $45 gift certificate for a full manicure one year...I gave it away four months later. If I want nails I can grown them or buy some at Walmart for $5). I am not a worldly person, I like things pretty simple. I dont own more than 4 pairs of shoes; my clothes take up at least 1/3 less room in the closet than Jims do; I own 2 purses but carry only the one black one for everything; I have a dual color eyeliner pencil, cover-up, mascara and a lipstick. I am not the girly girl type, nor am I insecure. I like simple. So what should my kids get me for my birthday...hmm, a new personality?
