So two years of free college for anyone who is willing to work for - TopicsExpress

So two years of free college for anyone who is willing to work for it? How about we just make high school 6 years long and leave college for those that are perusing higher education and remove the stigma of trade school for blue collar jobs? There are over three million unfilled technically demanding trade jobs in the US right now that no one wants to work despite them being quite high paying jobs. they demand you are willing to work for it but they are available and like the man said, shovel ready (except actually ready instead of pretend ready) If you want more education for the citizens I am all for it. Extend the length of middle school by a year and high school by a year and then relive the burden of every job to require some sort of higher education degree. Extend Pell Grants and Federal loans to trade skill schools and privatized work training programs (ie the trucking industry programs), and get a manufacturing and service base rebuilt stateside. Those that are most qualified to pursue some sort of higher education will still do so, and those that want to pursue economic liberty with high paying work can do the same. We can get a robust economy rolling again with everyone getting the opportunity to go where their skills are best suited while simultaneously raising the base education standard for every citizen. I applaud his notion for wanting to raise americas education standard, but much like the implementation of universal healthcare, i disagree quite strongly with the methods being used. A higher education standard is a good thing, giving away free college devaluing its worth seems to be a terrible idea.
