So uh, evidently this is a thing thats been happening to popular streamers on Twitch. Some jackwad calls in an anonymous tip that something is going down at a home or office that these streamers are working at, and SWAT shows up. This situation is pretty messed up. The Creatures office got raided by the police and Koots and Dans got arrested. From what I understand they were released today, but this cant be a fun day for them. I suppose its a work related hazard when you deal with the internet on a daily basis. Luckily no one got injured. The prankster called in from a landline, but that was probably a spoofed VPN over a few proxies. I doubt hell be tracked down, but heres hoping he called from an actual landline and can be tracked down. Thats some serious federal charges heading his way if he did. Before everyone gets all uppity about the police arriving on site, I think they were responding well within their parameters. You can see they handle Koots pretty roughly, but they were responding to a possible shooter in an unknown building. The only issue I have is their language towards him while he is complying, but with adrenaline going through your veins its understandable if youre not the most polite person. The real issue here is SWATting streamers. It needs to end before someone gets shot. Imagine what would have happened to Koots or any of their equipment if they had flashbanged the room for some reason? I know that they need to respond to everything as if it was real, but the follow through and clearing up of the situation is what will show professionalism. If the prankster gets caught and convicted, maybe even if a SWAT team shows up at his house? Thatd be sweet justice. **UPDATE** The dumbass that called in the threat got raided by the FBI about 6 minutes ago... https://twitter/ScrewPain Good riddance to bad apples I say. His dox got dropped on pastebin about an hour ago, ha ha. I wont link it because its pointless. Good job FBI, internet, or whoever gave this guy up.
