So,.....volunteering at X-mas in Victoria.... most of the usual stuff youd think about is covered...soup kitchens etc ......So, how to do something that will make a kids Christmas better?? Got some ideas....looking for more. I only have a couple hundred bucks to spare...so question is fuel...or donations.........or what???? How to help..... Thought maybe use my fuel to pick-up donations.....Coats, X-boxes, toys, B.B.Q.s......coffee makers...Christmas decorations....I dont know......what do lower income folks REALLY NEED.......Food bank has them covered.....but a B.B.Q. or X-box......, maybe even a couple Blue Boxes or packs of Blue Bags.....Shit people may just not be able to afford right now,...maybe not just now....but tomorrow...the next day......????? I want to spend a bit of time & a bit of money makin some kind of difference......An organized neighbourhood drive would be a good use of resources???.....Get someone from every neighbourhood to spend a day picking up stuff.....and dropping it off wherever it needs to go? I KNOW my neighbours will contribute something...that may be garbage to them......if they are told someone needs it..... Any thoughts on this would be appreciated......any help awesome!! Ive donated to the Food Bank & the Salvation Army.....just hoping to use my blessings to do a little more. I have a full size truck...& if all I can do is offer to deliver Christmas Hampers, then so be it.....just wanna try to figure out a little more.
